Well, once upon a time it was the endeavour that seized any small-town worth its dessicated coconut. Ladies by the church guildful would gather to bake the sponges, Ray 'Ray' the Rotarian would have dusted off the custom lamington-cutter he built way back when, earnest discussion could be overheard in the main street about chocolate icing consistency and every kid at school was sent home with an order form. Lamingtons or else, eat lamingtons or you are an unpatriotic wanker, local lamingtons, fresh and lumpy lamingtons, compulsory lamingtons.
